Tonight’s selections from Thee Headcoatees‘The Sisters of Suave’, a compilation of singles.
Somewhat surprisingly, there’s not much written about them online. I have a book on the gals but running out of time to put this together so there won’t be much commentary tonight. Just tunes. And when you’ve got a gang like this, that’s more than enough to satisfy!
All-female garage rock/punk band formed in Chatham, Kent, England in 1991. Thee Headcoatees were initially formed by Billy Childish as a backing group for his band Thee Headcoats. Their songs were also mainly written by Billy Childish and were usually songs that did not suit for some of his other acts. Thee Headcoatees disbanded in 1999. —Discogs

Holly Golightly, Kyra LaRubia and Ludella Black rotate lead vocals with Bongo Debbie joining in. Thee Headcoats provide the music. May have mentioned this before but… my wife & I’s first date was going to a Holly Golightly solo show at the Bottom of the Hill club in SF.
